The objectives included assessing<br />platelet count, mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution<br />width (PDW), and platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR) within these patient<br />categories and to comparing platelet indices among healthy controls<br />and diabetic patients.<br />Materals and Methods: This prospective case-control study was<br />conducted at Departments of Pathology and Ophthalmology, School<br />of Medical Sciences &amp; Research, Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida. Over<br />one and a half years, 100cases were enrolled, divided into 2 groups:<br />controls and Diabetics .The patients coming to ophthalmology opd for<br />retina checkup, their blood sample was taken. As same vial is used for<br />both estimation of platelet indices and HBA1C, both blood investigations<br />were noted. Inclusion criteria were adult patients with type 2 diabetes.<br />Exclusion criterion was anemia, certain eye conditions, uncontrolled<br />hypertension, cardiovascular issues, renal failure, anti-platelet drug<br />usage, malignancy, and type 1 diabetes were made.<br />Results: The results revealed significant variations among the groups.<br />In controls, the majority (90%) had MPV below 12, whereas in diabetic<br />patients most (58%) had MPV ranging from 12 to 15. PDW showed<br />similar trends, with 96% of controls having PDW below 17, while 96%<br />of diabetic patients was having as &gt;20 . PLCR percentages ranged<br />within normal limits for controls but shifted towards higher values in<br />diabetic group. Platelet counts were consistent between control and<br />diabetic without Diabetes groups, averaging around 252,000 x10^3/<br />cumm, while diabetic patients had a slightly lower average count of<br />approximately 242,000 x10^3/cumm .<br />Conclusion: Thus we conclude that platelet indices are cost effective, easily<br />available, more reliant and more compliant tools which can indicate the<br />progression diabetes. MPV, PDW,PLCR and PLATELET COUNT, can play an<br />important role in Early detection , better diagnosis and prognosis of Diabetes.<br />Keywords: Mean Platelet Count, Platelet Distribution Width , Platelet<br />Large Cell Ratio, Diabete.</li> <li>How to cite this article:<br />Mittal S, Dubey S, Goyal J L, Mishra J, Charu.<br />Platelet Indices: Indicators of Diabetes. This comprehensive review explores the intricate relationship between social dynamics and health outcomes among college students. Key social challenges, including difficulties in making friends, roommate conflicts, and social pressures, are examined for their effects on mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress. The review highlights how these mental health challenges can lead to physical health problems, including sleep disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Additionally, the impact of social stressors on academic performance and cognitive function is discussed.</p> <p>Methodology: This review article employs a comprehensive literature review methodology synthesizing findings from online sources published between 2019 and 2023. Key areas of focus include the prevalence of social challenges, their psychological and physiological impacts, and effective interventions.</p> <p>Result: The results highlight the impact of social challenges in sowing the seeds of social anxiety leading to stress, depression along with other health problems and how important it is to address social issues in order to enhance students' general wellbeing. In order to mitigate these issues, effective interventions like peer support programs, mental health services, and faculty involvement are essential.</p> <p>Conclusion: The review concludes with recommendations for enhancing campus health programs and policies to better support students. Future research directions are suggested to further understand the complex interplay between social dynamics and health in the college setting.</p> <p>How to cite this article:<br />Singh M, Saini N. The natural circadian cycle and</div> <div>shift workers schedule frequently conflicts, which can lead to poor</div> <div>sleep, exhaustion, mood swings, and a higher risk of developing chronic</div> <div>illnesses like cancer, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The</div> <div>purpose of this review is to examine the complex connection between</div> <div>shift employment and circadian rhythm disruption, as well as the ways</div> <div>in which these disruptions lead to different health problems. In this</div> <div>review we will ascertain the mediations that will hypothetically lessen</div> <div>the negative health concerns linked to shift working, we will also look</div> <div>at the principal mechanisms that explain these impacts.</div> <div>Methodology: A systematic review of articles published in various</div> <div>indexed medical journals, between 2014-2024 was taken. We highlighted</div> <div>the impact of disturbed circadian rhythm on health which leads to</div> <div>various life threatening diseases.</div> <div>Result: Our observations specify that disrupted circadian rhythms</div> <div>correlates with elevated blood pressure and 20% higher risk for</div> <div>cardiovascular diseases. Shift workers reported a 50% higher incidence</div> <div>of insomnia compared to day workers. There was reduced cognitive</div> <div>performance during night shift due to misaligned circadian rhythms. Shift</div> <div>workers exhibited 25% more workplace errors during night workers.</div> <div>Discussion: Our conclusion emphasizes the growing burden of shift</div> <div>work-related health issues, particularly as this type of work schedule</div> <div> </div> <div>becomes prevalent in 24/7 economies. Implementation of forward-</div> <div>rotating shift schedules and optimizing shift duration could reduce</div> <div>circadian misalignment and improve work well-being.</div> <div> </div> <div>How to cite this article:<br />Thappar H, Saini N.
